Cambo House is a gorgeous Victorian mansion house in a 1200 acre estate, next to the sea on the east coast of Fife.

The house contains rooms, suites and apartments that can be let on a b & b or self-catering basis.  Writing Space retreats are based in the larger self catering apartments like the West Wing: a spacious apartment that includes a kitchen and sitting room as well as 4 very large bedrooms.

Breakfast and a last night dinner are served in the magnificent and larger-than-life dining room.

The house is surrounded by woodland and gardens, including a lovely walled garden.  From the garden you can wander down to the shore at Cambo Ness.

You can see a slideshow of the house, gardens, woodland and shoreline here:

What a nice idea and what a beautiful site!
Who are the others attending? Will we be taught how to write?

    Cheers,
    Carola

Hi Carola , thanks for the feedback on the concept and the site :-)

Others attending: women for whom writing is part of their lives (but not ‘writers’); who want a bit of time and space to explore and expand what they’ve been writing, and to get ideas and inspiration from others

Will you be taught to write: you’ll get a mix of prompts, suggestions and ideas; the environment (the space, setting, building, history) to write in; the spark of writing in a group; and feedback as required from me on things you’ve written. (It’s there on offer but not everyone wants it)

    Hope that helps!

    Joanna

    Hi Joanna

I live really close to Cambo at Lathones. Would you consider taking daytime attendees, and if so, do you have a price in mind for that?

  4. joanna 14 April 2010 at 7:50 am #

Hi Ruth, yes I would take daytime attendees and do have a rate – I’ll email you with the details.

Is it available for writers who just want to be on their own to concentrate on their own work – ie. no workshops/course etc?

    What are the rates?
